School–Parent Compact 2025–2026
As Faculty and Staff, we will:
Provide High-Quality Curriculum and Instruction

Deliver rigorous, standards-based instruction aligned with state curriculum and IB framework.

Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Use research-based teaching strategies that support diverse learners, including bilingual, GT, and special education students.

Regularly assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet student needs.

Offer enrichment and intervention programs such as Extended Day Tutorials, UIL, Accelerated Reader, and HB 1416 Accelerated Instruction.
Supportive Learning Environment

Foster respect, responsibility, resilience, and social-emotional growth.

Encourage academic excellence and good citizenship.

Maintain and enforce clear behavioral expectations through the Patterson Discipline Management System and Essential Agreements for classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, restrooms, and recess.

Promote communication with parents through weekly folders, Parent Square, progress reports, and conferences.
As Parents/Guardians, we will:
Support Our Child’s Learning

Ensure daily, on-time attendance (arrive by 7:25 AM).

Provide necessary supplies and ensure homework is completed daily.

Encourage daily reading and support Accelerated Reader goals.

Monitor conduct and communicate regularly with teachers.
-
Support school discipline, dress code, and behavioral expectations.
-
Ensure our child follows safety rules for drop-off, pick-up, walking, and bike riding.
Volunteer and Participate

Attend parent–teacher conferences, PTO meetings, and school-sponsored events.

Volunteer in classrooms, school activities, and field trips (after VIPS clearance).
-
Serve on the Title I Policy Advisory Committee, Shared Decision-Making Committee (SDMC), or other advisory groups as able.

Provide input on school decisions and initiatives.
To Build a Strong Home–School Connection, Patterson Elementary will:
(A) Hold Parent–Teacher Conferences

Schedule at least one annual conference for each student.
-
Discuss student progress, strategies for success, and review this compact.
(B) Provide Frequent Progress Reports
-
Send progress reports and report cards as scheduled.
-
Provide timely updates via email, phone, Parent Square, or in-person meetings.
(C) Ensure Reasonable Access and Opportunities

Maintain open-door policy for scheduled visits and classroom observations.

Share volunteer opportunities and invite parents to participate in governance, committees, and school events.
(D) Maintain Regular, Two-Way Communication

Use newsletters, Parent Square, emails, text alerts, and the school website to keep families informed.

Communicate in a language parents can understand whenever practicable.

Encourage parents to contact teachers or administration with concerns.
